A3d blog 4
In this week
of A3D I continued to work on my character model. To start off with I tried
redoing the chest plate as I wasn’t happy with the way it turned out. I tried
starting from scratch.
I thought it
looked better. But I still wasn’t happy with it
I still
tried working on it by pulling out the vertices to get the armour decorations,
however it still didn’t turn out right.
I still
tried working on it by trying to shape it but I felt the damage was done.
I started
again and I felt it was starting to look better by using a reference image as a
template.
However even
this starting to go wrong, when adding the decorations
I started to
alter it and began to see what I think was improvement
I then
decided to leave it for a while I start to work on another part namely the leg
pads
I started
working on baisc
I started to
change to decorated chest piece as I felt it didn’t match the concept
I then started
the shaped the feet in order to match the foot wear to the concept
Continuing I
extruded the edges
I began to
connect the vertices together
Until I got
the result you see here
I then went
back to the chest piece
I then began
to smooth parts out in order to see what they would look like later
Also I
started working on the gauntlet decorations.
I continue
adding in the small details
Such as
I also
started to add more details to the chest plate
I also
continued with the shoulder pad by widening it
Again I
decide to redo the chest plate as I still wasn’t happy with it however this
time I felt it was much better
Reflection
By doing
this I can see that I am making slow progress however I feel it’s speeding up
as I am getting better at it and I am learning a lot by doing the parts of the
model that have gone wrong over and over again as they are getting better and
it is a good practise.
